Omg, I have to tell you all that there's been a gas leak a few minutes ago ... I totally blew one out and it smells like evil, immesureable, painfull death here right now. Wanna come over and grab a sniff? We're eating coyote flesh with potatoes and dill and there'll be some leftovers....

Devastation (Sweden)

The band I play in - Devastation (Sweden). We've been around since 2004, but we've mostly done stuff in the last few years, apart from 2010 which was a really slow year and kinda our hiatus year. Currently we are (picture from left-right) Daniel (guitar), me (drums), Henke (guitar) and Amanda (vox). We're currently looking for a bass player.

Our musical style varies between heavy, thrash, death, groove and sludge metal. Some of our biggest influences are Pantera, Life of Agony, Type O Negative, Crowbar, Down, Kyuss, Megadeth, Alice in Chains, Faith No More, Sepultura, Anthrax, Dismember, Entombed etc.

So ... After some long thinking I decided that I needed a new hobby, so I started this blog. In this blog I will post reviews of different thing, mostly music albums (metal, electronic music etc.) and movies. I will also maybe sometimes write about things I've done, if they're crazy and interesting enough.

I'm a big fan of old school metal from the 80's mostly, but also early 90's. Of course I do like the 70's stuff like Sabbath and Zeppelin too. There are also some bands today in the jungle of all that metalcore shit that I like. You will see which when I do reviews of their albums and the reaction's positive.

When it comes to movies, I'm a fan om comedy, futuristic sci-fi, action and grindhouse. I'm kind of addicted to the cult movie Blade Runner and psychically lives in that world from time to time.

My band Devastation (Sweden) is a metal band and we try out different styles of metal, but as time's parished we've found "our" sound more and more. Today when we write new songs, they're kinda to the (southern) sludge metal sound. Musically some great influences for us right now are Crowbar, Down, Corrosion of Conformity, Texas Hippie Coaliation, Pantera, etc. We like our shit heavy as fuck.

Welcome to Devacron, estimated 2011.

This is my place where I occassionally aggrevate and write about stuff I like, mostly about music or video games. I am a huge fan of metal music (primarily) and totally non-elitist, i.e. an open-minded metal music listener. I also particularly like electronic/synth/ambient music as well as some other styles.

I have a strange obsession with the 1980's and that's something I've had since I was a kid. Born in 1990, I perfectly missed out on the entire decade. As a kid I simply enjoyed lots of 80's movies and the soundtracks. Think Robocop, Terminator and cheesy 80's music as well as rock anthems. I loved it!

In 2002 I got interested in music and 80's heavy metal was my one great love from the get-go. I grew up with very young parents, both of whom were teenage metalheads in the 80's. Safe to say, they nutured me with the greatest kind of music ever made.

Other interests range from movies to video games to motorcycles. I like a lot of sci-fi movies but also fantasy. Whatever is like an adventure movie, I suppose. I've also been a gamer all my life, starting off on Sega Megadrive and NES as a small kid. These days I rock the PS4 and PC gaming.

I'm also a musician. I was in a (mixed) metal band called Devastation (Sweden) for ten years, playing drums and doing backing vocals (mostly death metal growling). The band renamed itself Into The Pentagram in 2014 and became more of a pure death/black metal band.
